About The Role
We are currently seeking a Dual Skilled Technician, based out of Maple Lodge STW for the SSPS (Small Sewage Pumping Station) Team.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of or Pumping Assets in the field, across
the West of the Thames Water region. In the role of a front-line technician, your responsibility will be to ensure you will maintain our Pumping Assets for our customers, 365 days a year.
You will work as part of an established and high-performing field team who have a direct impact on Thames Water’s performance in several key areas. The role encompasses a wide-ranging remit, making each day different from the last and posing a unique challenge.
What will this role involve?
Being a Mobile Technician across the West of the Thames Water region to perform a range of assigned front-line maintenance/operational activities on our Small Sewage Pumping Stations, with a base of Maple Lodge Sewage treatment Works - WD3 9SQ
This will include planned and preventative maintenance of sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets.
The role may also require you to take part in a 1 week in every 5 weeks out of an hour's emergency standby rota, for which you receive additional payments.
On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your “workload” and will also be responding to emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone which highlights the importance of our high health and safety standards.

You will help with the day-to-day operation of our sewage treatment works. You will be a team player and be able to think on your feet and problem-solve. What skills are we looking for?
ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering
A valid driving license is essential
Having previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification beneficial
Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial
Be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems ideally working in a “true multi-skilled” capacity
Be a self-motivated individual
Take Ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with the team
Deliver exceptional service through an enthusiastic and positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team
Be a team player – We are one team, and our end goals are the same
Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively
