The Wave, Bristol, are recruiting Surf Technicians for our 2023 summer season. We have full time and part time roles available on a fixed term contract.

Our 180m long lake is powered by Wavegarden. This ground-breaking technology can generate up to 1,000 quality waves per hour, ranging from 50cm (1.7ft) to almost 2m (6.5ft) in height. We can produce a new wave every 8-10 seconds.
Our Surf Technicians are responsible for ensuring our visitors are well informed, relaxed and excited about getting in the water! They provide excellent customer service to ensure our visitors journey is seamless, safe and enjoyable.
Our Surf Techs:
- Confidently deliver engaging safety briefings for hosted sessions and experiences
- Understand and deliver the customer journey - arrivals & waiver process and check-in
- Have a solid understanding of our surf equipment and what our visitors will need
- Manage sessions alongside the lifeguards. Working collaboratively to deliver a safe and enjoyable experience
- Actively support the team to ensure a smooth-running day; completes departmental checklists; work to the daily plan; proactively looks to find & complete tasks
- Are trained to be competent in the use & care of radios
- Able to operate our lockers and have basic maintenance knowledge in order to help visitors

All our Wavemakers join The Wave on the level 1 salary relating to their age range. We encourage all Wavemakers to work their way through our Learning & Development programme to gain new skills and increase their earning potential by moving up our staff levels.
16–20 - Level 1 = £7.68 per hour
21-22 - Level 1 = £10.43 per hour
23 + - Level 1 = £10.68 per hour
