ICT Technician required with effect from 1 September 2023.
15 hours per week, term time only.
The Governors of Heaton School are seeking to appoint an ICT Technician to join this ‘outstanding’ and well-respected school. Heaton School is based on two sites, a large site in Heaton Moor and a small site in Cheadle Heath. We are a Secondary Special School for teenagers and young adults with complex, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. Information and Communications Technologies are essential for our students and we are looking for a candidate who has knowledge and experience to maintain our current provision, whilst also developing the school ICT provision as we seek to be exemplary in our practice.
We are a school with a strong community feel and ethos. School-based staff are made up of teachers, teaching assistants, midday support, therapists, a nursing team, office staff, caretaking staff, and kitchen staff. Teamwork at our school is strong.
The post of ICT technician is a new and exciting role within the school. Our school is looking for someone with excellent ICT knowledge and skills and can demonstrate excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills. The role will be vital in supporting school with the smooth operations of a wide variety of ICT equipment and resources (including PCs; Laptops, iPads, Chrome books, Interactive screens; lighting and sound in our specialist drama studio; specialist electronic music equipment and specialist apps on Ipads). The successful candidate will work closely alongside our ‘in house’ therapies team and/or other agencies to assist in the setup of high-tech communication aides for students throughout the school.
