Job description
Misra and Ray Logistics, Inc. is a Service Provider for FedEx Ground based out of the Livonia terminal. We deliver Packages within Garden City (48135) and Westland (48185). We may soon expand into Farmington too. We are accepting applications for Alternative Vehicle Delivery Drivers.
You use your own vehicle, insurance, fuel and schedule and deliver Fedex packages to customers. We pay 1.75 per stop (unique address) and we sort packages so that only small volume packages are selected. You will be provided with a scanner. The first 50 miles is on you. We rarely go above that but we reimburse a 75c a mile above the first 50 miles. All vehicle related costs are on you. No pre-qualifications are required. No drug test or road test while applying but random drug test is possible after being hired. You must have good driving record and no criminal record. Start time is normally 9 am. If you want to use the optional app GroundCloud for navigation you can do so on your phone or your own iPad. Fedex requires you must be at least 21 years old (we deliver alcohol) and eligible to work in the USA. You will load your own vehicle. You pick your schedule by negotiating with Manager. Minimum stop count guaranteed is 30. The bigger the vehicle more packages you get to deliver. You can choose to deliver more than 1 route each day. Average is 40 stops typically. Takes 2 hours normally.
A background check will be done at our expense. This is year round work. We pay 25 dollars if you refer somebody and that person works 20 days with us.
We requires the following type of vehicles under 10000 pounds
1) SUV
2) Minivan
3) Pickup Truck with covered back
We will train you. Sprinter vans, Commercial passenger or any cargo vehicle is not allowed.No small vehicles. We will need a picture of your vehicle, make, model and year prior to hiring. Vehicle MUST be registered and insured in applicants name.
Benefits:
This is a W2 position and taxes are deducted at source. You will be paid via direct deposit on Friday's.
