The role is a permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week post based at Museum Headquarters, Preston, Lancashire.
This varied role is suitable for a skilled individual working to high quality standards within the Heritage sector.
About the role:
You will work as part of the Conservation & Collections Team supporting the operation and development of museums across Lancashire, North West and beyond.
Reporting to the Museum Technical Officer, we are looking for an individual with specialist craft, joinery, or metalworking skills who is used to working to a high standard.
The post holder will work within a small team providing all aspects of technical support for the Lancashire County Museum Service and its external clients in the provision of exhibition construction and installation, museum object care and transportation and assistance with the collection care conservation activities of the wider team. Training will be provided in museum collection care and packing.
The post-holder will be working with visitors and external clients so good customer service and communication skills are required.
The post is based in Preston at the Lancashire County Museum Headquarters, but the successful candidate will work at venues across Lancashire and the wider North West area.
