Job description

The Technical Proposal Writer operates within the Sales Capture Team and is responsible for moving sales opportunities forward through the writing and submitting of Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) documents. In addition to writing and submitting proposals, they will manage and update technical sales documents, and request and review incoming FOI (freedom of information) packages. Collaboration with internal departments is required to ensure accurate and timely communication of proposal information.

This is an initial 12-month contract with the hope of extending to full-time, permanent employment.

  • SmartSimple’s headquarter is located in Toronto, Canada with our EMEA office based out of Dublin, Ireland. Employees will have the option of working from the office (when it is safe to do so) if they wish or they may work remotely from home.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify and clarify opportunities and needs, review RFP and strategize with the Capture team to develop proposals wherein all client requirements are addressed.
  • Contribute content, reference materials, and sales documentation in response to RFP proposals.
  • Write and maintain technical sales documentation for sales-related enhancements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) around prospect defined RFP requirements to determine and communicate product/requirement fit.
  • Provide feedback and intelligence from RFP engagements and disseminate them to appropriate business teams.
  • Create and manage technical sales documents as required.
  • Work with internal and external partners in the development of complete RFP proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, or similar work experience.
  • A technology-curious mind.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Clear, concise and effective communication ability.
  • Ability to understand client-based technical requirements and pair them with appropriate SmartSimple platform functionality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of structured, task-based writing is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of ‘Software-as-a-Service’ solutions (SaaS)
  • Experience in our vertical markets e.g., philanthropy, research, corporate social responsibility, insurance, etc. will be considered a bonus.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of accountability and ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada or the United States.
