The Vacancy
Copper Consultancy, Part of RSK Group is looking for a Creative, highly talented Assistant Technical Editor and Proofreader to join their growing team You’ll be part of a team that includes remote and office-based members. As part of a fast-growing, full-service communications consultancy, you will be working with some of the biggest names in the UK and globally, including renewable energy generators and green technology companies. This is a Full-time, Permanent role, Hybrid with an affiliated Office based in Chester.
Copper Consultancy is a UK-based specialist infrastructure communications firm. We combine insight, intelligence and creative communications expertise to provide bespoke, data-driven strategies to support businesses. Our services are standalone or can be blended to provide support where it’s needed, spanning expertise across public affairs, campaigning, media relations, content, creative and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital editing
- Copy editing
- Eventually, substantive editing
- Proofreading
- Knowing and applying house styles for key clients
- Occasional small amounts of copywriting as needed.
Person Specification
- A technical or scientific degree, or equivalent.
- Experience of editing technical marketing materials
- A basic understanding of and the ability to follow a wide range of technical subjects, including infrastructure, energy, environmental, science and engineering topics
- An understanding of the publication process, editorial workflows and layout conventions
- Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud, desirable for text QC purposes but not essential. A willingness to use new software is important though.
- The successful candidate will have excellent English language skills
- Edit technical and general business content to a high level of detail, and proofread a wide range of materials, applying clear markup
