OVERVIEW
Hendall Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Editor to support an ongoing project. Qualified candidates will collaborate with Product, Technical, and Design Leads, and Business Analysts to provide broad editorial support for all project document deliverables and written artifacts. He/she will work in an energetic environment that employs iterative approaches for service delivery.
DUTIES
- Provide editorial oversight for various paper-based and electronic products associated with e-Learning initiatives and training developed under a federal government contract for practitioners in a clinical setting
- Responsible for the overall editorial quality of all training materials developed, including compliance with all federal regulations and guidelines
- Manage, improve, and maintain methodologies, processes, and procedures for ensuring editorial quality, including overseeing the application of style guides and conventions for work products and deliverables
- Responsible for reviewing materials for grammar, style, content, format, consistency, organization, and instructional efficacy, as well as for establishing and monitoring procedures to ensure that standards in these areas are maintained
- Coach other staff, such as technical writers, editors, and graphic designers, in quality methodologies, processes, and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years relevant experience with a master's degree or
- 18 years relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or
- 22 years relevant experience with no degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with training and development a plus
- Possess superior editorial skills, a proven ability to develop and implement processes to ensure quality of printed and/or electronic products, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and communicate clear priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
- Experience in editorial project management, particularly involving management of both processes and personnel, would be a decided advantage.
- High attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly integrated team
- Multitasking and project organization skills a must
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to proactively resolve issues in a diplomatic, flexible, and constructive manner
