Objective of this role:

• Develop comprehensive documentation on IS infrastructure including physical and interface diagrams along with system interdependencies using Visio and MS Word
• Gain deep understanding of systems and servers and document this complex information
• Augment diagrams with content that meets the needs of IS teams
• Develop and maintain detailed database of reference materials
• Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement

Responsibilities

• Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand infrastructure and applications
• Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write technical specifications and process documentation
• Work with support team to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
• Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards

Required skills and qualifications

• Four or more years of experience as an effective technical writer documenting IT infrastructure, application systems and interfaces for large enterprises
• Ability to work independently to organize meetings and perform information gathering
• Understanding of IT infrastructure including servers, firewalls, networks, security and system interfaces
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
• Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Experience in working with IT and IS support teams
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
• Expert in Visio and Word
