We’re recruiting several Technical Support Officers to provide assistance to teams across the Greater Manchester, Merseyside & Cheshire area. You could join one of our Flood Risk and Coastal Management Teams and help make a difference to people and businesses who are affected by flood risk now and in the future. You might work within our Environment Management teams helping to protect the quality of our air, land, and water by tackling pollution and reducing emissions or perhaps or with our Customers & Engagement team who work to protect our public reputation.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You are required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training is given. We will work with you to find a role that suits your interests and circumstances.
Successful candidates will also be considered for any other posts which arise in the area in the next 6 months.
As we carry out some quite unique activities, we provide comprehensive in-house and on the job training for most of our activities.
You'll be able to demonstrate that you have experience of, or skills in:
- Effective communication both written and verbal
- A good customer focus with the ability to understand customer needs and manage customer expectations
- Making decisions and solving problems to achieve positive outcomes
- Organising and prioritising your workload
- Deal with sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Operate and maintain data and information systems with the ability to interpret data and prepare basic reports
We offer an attractive range of benefits including options for working flexibly and an excellent pension provision. Annual leave entitlement upon starting is 25 days a year with up to an additional 15 days a year available using flexitime.
Contracted hours are 37 per week in a hybrid-working environment.
