Job Summary

NanoFCM produces analytical devices for research & development based on nano-flow cytometry (nFCM). Our unique platform for characterization of nanoparticles (LNPs, EVs, viruses, non-biological particles) has already been implemented globally.

To sustain growth and to support our existing customer base in Europe, the company is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to be based at our Nottingham, UK site. The position will involve field-based work, with regular travel across the UK and Europe required, but will also include periods of UK office-based work.

The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing onsite and remote support to NanoFCM customers including instrument installation, scheduling and conducting preventative maintenance, and email/phone support, following a comprehensive training period with senior technical staff.

As a Technical Support Engineer you will:

  • Install, maintain, and service instrumentation at customer sites. Complete service documentation as required.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
  • Conduct customer follow-ups and document customer interactions via CRM.
  • Maintain asset/spare parts inventory and coordinate order shipments.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Team to track and administer Service Contracts.
  • Report to the Technical Support Manager in the UK.
  • Travel to customer sites up to 50% or more.

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, biotechnology, engineering, or related discipline (minimum)
  • Experience with laboratory analytical techniques, such as flow cytometry, ELISA, microfluidic systems or fluorescence microscopy.
  • Experience of customer service/support in a technical environment – medical and laboratory devices or analytical equipment (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skill, including data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Based in commutable distance to Medicity (Boots Site, Nottingham).
  • Driving licence (preferred).
