Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Smart Metering Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional technical assistance and support to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues related to our smart metering products. This role will involve both remote support and occasional on-site visits to customer locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to smart metering products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D and Field Service, to identify and resolve product issues.
  • Document customer interactions, technical solutions, and best practices in the knowledge base.
  • Proactively identify potential product improvements or enhancements based on customer feedback.
  • Conduct on-site visits to customer locations for installations, troubleshooting, and technical assistance, as needed.
  • Deliver training sessions and technical presentations to customers, both on-site and remotely.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the smart metering field.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in technical support or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of smart metering systems, protocols, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to smart metering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Zigbee, LoRaWAN, or LTE.
  • Familiarity with meter data management systems and analytics platforms.
  • Certification in smart metering or related fields.
