Job description
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to both internal and external users of our proprietary software, as well as performing desktop support and network administration tasks for internal users. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating documentation, including our standard operating procedure manual.
This role is based in our central Manchester office, with work from home up to three days per week. Additionally, you may on occasion be required to travel down to our London office. Normal working hours are 9AM to 6PM, Monday to Friday, but we aim to be flexible. Out of hours support is rare, but may be required on occasion.
Requirements
As the primary point of contact for end user inquiries, it is essential that you possess exceptional communication skills and a polite demeanor. You should be comfortable conducting on-screen share sessions to assist users as needed. In addition, strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team, including infrastructure and application developers, are crucial for success in this role.
An ideal candidate would be technically minded and keen to try and diagnose and resolve problems indepdently.
- Minimum of one year experience with desktop support and basic network administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with a ticketing system and maintaining documentation
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Good technical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows, Office and Intune is a plus, as are certificates such as CompTIA Network+ or A+
