PrepWorld is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator with regards to our Packaging.
The role is to administer all invoicing and covering packaging. The role will require the supporting of EPD/NPD and packaging technologist role in product specification. To check the packaging products are within specification agreed with the Customer Technologist/NPD Team. In addition, there will be key administrative support to ensure we are audit ready and support internal departments with their requests around packaging.
Main Duties:
- Sample checking all packaging arrivals against agreed Specification.
- Reporting any relevant non-conformances to the relevant suppliers. Follow up investigations & root cause.
- Periodical Supplier Reviews.
- Support any NPD launches with associated packaging trials and samples.
- Understand the full manufacturing process with onsite equipment
- Understand supplier manufacturing processes.
- Attend Supplier Visits onsite and offsite.
- Attend relevant trade shows which could add value to the business.
- Ensure coverage and support during weekend launches.
- Ensuring that deliveries match the orders.
- Ensuring that costs agreed against invoices in a timely manner.
- Completing invoices to meet our end on month requirements
- Working alongside the Packaging Team who are responsible for the management of packaging stocks.
- Audit ready for packaging traceability. Ensure Suppliers have valid BRC accreditation.
- Maintain update to date supplier self-assessment questionnaires.
- Update and maintain Bill of Material (BOM), Film and Base Label Matrix for the wider business.
- Sedex Membership Administration.
- Supporting the artwork process with EPD/NPD.
- Ensuring Specifications are always in date.
- Will be available to support Packaging Weekend On-Call on a rota basis
Who we are looking for:
- Experience within an FMCG environment would be highly desirable
- Experience in a food technical background would be advantageous
- Computing skills to a good standard
- Polite telephone manner
- Effective communication skills
- Attention to detail is critical
- Ability to hold meetings
- Prioritising workload.

Days and Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 with 1 hour unpaid break each day
Salary: starting at £23,000
