About the role:
As a Technical Support Representative Senior (Audio Visual) your skills will be on the front lines every day. While working directly with customers, you’ll ensure they are getting the most out of our products and services. You will assist with day-to-day functions of the audio visual office in accordance with established company policies and procedures. This role is a great launching point for taking your career into other areas of FIS and beyond.
What you will be doing:
- Providing technical support regarding network infrastructure, internal desktops and clients, servers, and software.
- Setup and test sound, lighting, video equipment used to conduct live and recorded events such as meetings, and fund raisers.
- Setup and direct video by switching cameras, as needed.
- Communicating highly technical information in layman terms to non-technical users.
- Work closely with and assist the Event Co-Ordinator’s, Business teams, Corporate Marketing, and Event teams, as well as IT, Facilities and Networking teams.
- Communicate and assist clients to accomplish their audio-visual needs.
- Track and assess assigned AV equipment and report any issues to IT and Facilities Departments
- Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed.
- All types of microphones (wired, and wireless)
- Live sound public address systems (mixing consoles and speakers)
- Laptop to LCD projector interfacing (Standard VGA or HDMI and various adaptors)
- Hours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Listens to others, ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively, responds to manager’s instructions and accepts feedback.
- Problem-solve and handle equipment malfunctions well, even under pressure.
- Use objective analysis to spot issues and eliminate them before an event.
- Strong communication skills required to keep project progress moving forward and put event coordinators at ease.
- Set up and alter room arrangements including tables, seats, pipe/drape, scenery, lighting, and stages according to blueprints, layout diagrams, and schedules working closely with facilities, and event coordinators.
- Ensure sound, lighting, coordinate graphics, run power points, record the audio/video, direct the video by switching cameras, etc.
- Provide outstanding customer service and develop working relationships with our internal clients.
- Ensure all connected systems operate at peak performance.
- Troubleshoot and adjust the AV system as required without showing concern to customers.
- Use Objective analysis to spot issues and eliminate them before an event.
What you will need:
- Strong Windows 2010/2011 experience
- Ability to problem-solve and handle equipment malfunctions well, even under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and customer support
- A Bachelor’s in CIS, Business, or related field, or three years of equivalent experience.
- Experience with cameras and lighting
- Experience with sound systems
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and Zoom Video Conferencing
Added bonus if you have:
- Experience support Windows 2010/2011
- Bachelors in CIS, Business, or related field, or three years of equivalent experience.
