Working model - 5 days onsite

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

As one of our Technical Specialists, you will be taking the lead in a diverse, fast-paced, constantly evolving team. We use DevOps methodologies to deliver world class secure platforms that make a real difference to our customers. In this role, you will have devolved architectural and operational responsibility for a large subsection of the technology stack on one of our projects.

You will have regular and direct customer communication, responding to their challenges while maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing the work stacks of multiple colleagues, making priority decisions in line with all relevant security, financial and HR considerations. You will coach your team to ensure their continued development and build a healthy, inclusive culture.

What you'll do:

  • Provide the technical direction for the build, delivery and maintenance of world class secure platforms
  • Be hands-on in all aspects of the design, build, deployment and support of customer facing systems
  • Employ and adapt industry-leading techniques and best practices to suit customer challenges
  • Work within existing monitoring, observability and security frameworks to achieve our customer’s requirements

The Data Science & AI Manager manages a team in applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to obtain value from the full range of all BT data sets, transforming high volumes of complex data from across the BT group into practical insights and analytic solutions that support the Group's data strategies and strategic decision making.
What you’ll be doing
1.Manages teams in the implementation of the Data Science & AI strategy through the extraction and analysis of big data to generate business insights, identify impactful recommendations, and communicate the findings to key stakeholders across the BT group.
2.Coordinates the development and implementation of custom data models, intelligent algorithms, and AI solutions to apply to data sets.
3.Develops data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership, creative stakeholders and other non-technical audiences, through clear visualisations, data storytelling and well-crafted presentations.
4.Coordinates the distribution and delegation of projects, data analysis, tools and datasets related, influencing relationships with functional leaders aligning company objectives with the goals of the data science function.
5.Contributes to the Data Science & AI roadmap of long-term projects, quickly adapting to the fast-evolving strategic landscape and product-development / commercial priorities inside the BT group.
6.Coordinates the mining and analysis of data from company databases to drive optimisation and improvement of product, marketing techniques and business strategies for the BT group and its clients.
7.Leads the effectiveness reviews of machine learning and AI algorithms in the running of models.
8.Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
9.Coaches talent, and manages others, to develop capabilities and ensure performance through upskilling, development and recruitment.
10.Implements ways to improve working processes within the Data Science & AI team.
