Job description
The opportunity: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work
alongside experienced personnel across the GB region to gain the skill sets
required to become a fully competent team member. On-the-job training will be delivered whilst the individual works towards BPIF and NVQ level 3 qualifications. They will be
exposed to all aspects of the business to better understand pre &
post-press requirements. The team member will carry out general duties as
directed by their line manager and effectively work within the technical
services team, assisting colleagues where needed.
How you will impact WestRock:
- General admin tasks
- Creating production estimates and checking virtual work tickets
- Liaising with various internal departments and external customers to resolve various issues
- Updating production plans to enable manufacturing deadlines to be met
- Understand print, cut and crease and finishing processes
- Understand and interpret customer proofs / artwork
- Checking and signing off artwork specifications
- Understand combination workflow - plan different artworks on one sheet
- Read works instructions to determine instructions and specifications for machine set-up
- Use relevant office software and other WestRock software
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and charter projects in the Project
- Portal on Westrock Connect
- Participate in company quality programs, e.g. Internal Audits, Calibration, Gemba walks, and 5S events to identify and report problems or deviations from standards
