Job description
The Role/Key Tasks:
It’s technical sales engineering, plain and simple! To design and sell pneumatic conveying systems, waste & trim conveying systems, dust, and fume conveying systems, air-based material separation solutions for the recycling industry, and all related products on behalf of the company.
- To successfully work alongside and integrate into the existing sales team.
- A fresh, innovative, problem-solving, and creative mindset, with a general knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering applications.
- To respond to sales inquiries generated through the company's own marketing activities and generate new sales leads within the UK or allocated geographical area.
- Visit customer premises to determine requirements, conduct face-to-face meetings, and carry out field assessment & site measurement required to prepare a quotation for solution/system.
- To complete conceptual designs, calculations, sizing, and selection of equipment & components and also establish the selling value of the solution.
- To work with specialist subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
- To prepare detailed written technical proposals & present them to the customer.
- Generate orders in excess of £1,000,000 per annum.
The Ideal Candidate:
In an ideal world, the candidate would have some experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Already in a sales engineering, capital equipment sales, or technical sales role.
- Knowledge of pneumatic conveying systems and their application.
- System design knowledge including sizing ductwork, working out air flows, carrying out ductwork pressure loss calculations, and similar related design tasks.
- A good understanding of relevant applicable directives such as COSHH regulations/HSG258, BOHS P600 & P602.
- A natural ability for problem-solving, using logical and methodical approaches.
Essential Skills:
If you don’t have all the skills below, this isn’t the role for you!
- A full (and ideally clean) UK driving license.
- You must live and be eligible to work in the UK.
- Be able to work as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills verbal and written in the English language.
- Self-motivation, excellent time management & prioritization skills.
- Strong computer literacy including but not limited to MS applications.
Desirable/Beneficial Skills:
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification HNC/HND or similar.
- Read/use Autocad or 3D drawing software.
- A good understanding of relevant applicable directives such as COSHH regulations/HSG258, BOHS P600 & P602.
