If yes, then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re offering a rare and genuinely unique opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading digital marketing agencies as a Technical Service Delivery Manager. Based within the beautiful rural village of Bollington, Cheshire, we are an international digital marketing firm that works closely with Google, Facebook, Snap, TikTok and Instagram.

We are on the hunt for a sharp, meticulous person who has a proven and demonstrable track record of cultivating and leading high-performance software development teams in fast-paced medium to large enterprises. The candidate must be highly organised, comfortable working in an accelerated environment, demonstrate the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders, be able to challenge up as well as down, and be driven to scale an existing high-performance team to meet our growth and performance objectives.

For the right person, this truly is a fantastic opportunity.

Duties and Requirements of a Technical Service Delivery Manager

  • Take responsibility for ensuring the technical team are providing high quality output within the expected time constraints
  • Manage one or more development squads with related system/dependencies
  • Manage significant complexity and ambiguity in delivery outcomes
  • Lead and coach the development squads, including tracking of KPIs and Role Profiles at a team and individual developer level
  • Combine bespoke ideas with industry standard practices to plug gaps, fix shortcomings or enhance development processes
  • Has a drive to ensure that things are done in the best fashion they can be, managing tasks against levels of technical debt to ensure improvement over time
  • Use broad and deep technical understanding of current and emerging trends and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the development teams
  • Keep teams focussed and manage pace vs. pressure
  • Strong understanding of speed vs. quality vs. cost
  • Ensure documentation is maintained or created where shortcomings are identified

The Ideal Candidate

We know different people will take different routes to get to where they are now, so it might be the case that you feel you are not quite aligned with the below. If you know you have what it takes, do get in touch still - let us know how you are the person we are looking for.

  • 3+ years of experience with a technical background in design, development, testing, and deployments, ideally within PHP.

  • Is working at least level 3 (level 4 preferred) for the ‘Levels of Responsbility’ sections as assessed by the SFIA8 Framework
  • Excellent communication skills with technical staff, non-technical staff and third-parties
  • Strong experience carrying out assessments of performance, working with each individual to help them overcome their weaknesses and progress as a developer
  • Strong experience managing high-performing software development teams
  • Good exposure to leveraging cloud technologies (preferably AWS)
  • Commercial experience working in an agile environment with immature CI/CD infrastructure
  • Has worked with senior leadership / directors to execute long-term business and technical strategy
