What you will be doing...

IT Project Manager¸ based at Holiday House in Leeds City Centre.

Reporting to the IT Project Office Manager, our IT Project Manager will work closely with key stakeholders and the Project Team members to manage IT Projects, or IT elements within larger projects through the full lifecycle to time, cost and quality.

What will you do in the role?

In this exciting new role, you will manage projects through the full lifecycle and document/manage as living documents the project plan, issues, actions risks and dependencies. There can be approximately 20 projects running at any one time and the role holder could have responsibility for 5 to 10 different sized projects that are in progress concurrently. You will also: -
  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of Cloud Based Solutions
  • Facilitate the collation of requirements and documentation required to initiate the project, working with internal teams and third parties to initiate and run any procurement process
  • Support the business in the production of a Business Case and ensuring appropriate project sponsorship
  • Document and manage as living documents the project plan, PID, issues, actions, risks and dependencies; holding necessary regular meetings to ensure each are progressed
  • Manage project finances and forecasting
  • Facilitate, host or run (as appropriate) workshops or presentations relevant to the progression of the project
  • Manage project resource allocation and utilisation with the Business Owner
  • Maintain the engagement of Stakeholders through-out the project, providing decision-making support.
  • Facilitate implementation, transition solutions to relevant teams and conduct Post-Implementation Reviews to capture the knowledge gained through the project to be shared within the business

What are the key skills/experience you’ll already have?

To be successful in this role you will have significant IT project Management experience with a Prince 2 practitioner or other appropriate Project Management accreditation, you will have demonstrable experience of managing projects which incorporate regulatory and security changes across multiple platforms, business areas or systems.

Essential:
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or similar cloud
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrable a strong history of delivery to cost, time and quality
  • Excellent communication skills both Verbal and Written
  • Excellent Leadership & Organisational skills
  • Strong Stakeholder Management and influencing skills, with experience of managing the expectations of customers to board level desirable
  • Matrix Management experience

Desirable:
  • Experience of ITIL principles in a work environment
  • Knowledge and experience in Data Centres (Co-location management, Hybrid cloud strategy, Azure, AWS)
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing projects which involve Linux, Windows OS, Oracle, Virtual Machines, Call Centre Technologies, Mobile Technology & Apps, Web Services, Financial Systems
  • An infrastructure and engineering background
