Key Responsibilities:
- Develop styles on time with accuracy
- Create, distribute, and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and manuals to ensure accurately produced finished product/goods
- Create and communicate prototype request packages for offshore vendors, including BOMS, measurement and construction information
- Organize and ship materials (fabric/trims) for 1st prototypes and/or pre-development
- Assess and comment on vendor provided trims/materials in relation to its suitability to functionality within the finished garment
- Daily communication and follow up with offshore vendors, designers, merchandisers and sourcing partners
- Lead fittings and style reviews with team partners to ensure alignment of style details, fit and quality standards are clearly communicated and followed
- Adhere to product calendars: deliver completed tasks on time at each stage of the development process, take initiative when required as well as demonstrate flexibility as needed
- Responsible for managing risks to the delivery, reporting prototype status to the business and leading teams to come to collaborative solutions to maintain delivery
- Lead prototype and sales sample reviews with Quality Assurance team and Manufacturing.
- Contribute to process improvement by sharing feedback and ideas
- Assist in onboarding and training new development team hires as required
- Any and all duties as assigned by the Manager
Experience, Education and Designations:
- Must have 1-3 years of working experience in a Product Development position or similar with +1 years of relevant category experience in cut and sew knits
- A Degree in Design OR equivalent industry training, certification is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledge of PLM is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator is required
- Knowledge of cut and sew knit construction, production, and technical fit
- Experience with cut and sew product including active wear, mid to heavy weight knits (sweatshirts) and fleece
- Experience with techniques such as graphics/embellishment, finishes and garment dye
- Knowledge of line merchandising and product life cycle is an asset
- Detail oriented and strong organization skills
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to work as a team and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Experience in effectively communicating with and travelling to offshore vendors
- Driven and experienced in fast paced, diverse, evolving environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
