WHAT TO EXPECT

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Technical Chapter Lead, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Closure Systems and Project Management realm.

This individual will be instrumental in orchestrating, engineering and delivering Closures Systems (Lids and/or Door systems) into an Architecture / Programme, that will meet all defined targets and attributes both technical and commercial on cost, quality and time.

The individual will be accountable for the execution of all process activities to the Programme at all relevant gateways. They will manage a multi-disciplinary team through the engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Manage programme-specific resources and activities to ensure execution of the Technology Chapter's Body of Knowledge (BoK) delivering against Technical & Commercial targets
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate concepts, features and alternatives and develop production releases
  • Coordinate a cross-functional team to ensure robust delivery. Lead the team through the engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programs on time, quality and cost
  • Manage the delivery of all Automated Issues Management System and JIRA items and escalate as required to the relevant governance forums
  • Validate and contribute to setting targets created in the strategy phase to ensure they can be delivered robustly
  • Manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and senior stakeholders. Manage conflict and negotiate between parties, where required, to maintain engagement whilst delivering against the plan
  • Manage, optimise and drive Technology Centre component costs, investment, vendor tooling and design and development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience in delivering and developing technical products
  • Previous experience in system engineering delivery for complex mechanical &/or electromechanical systems.
  • Extensive experience in project and/ or programme management
  • Significant experience in leading operational multi-skilled teams with the ability to set operational and strategic direction
  • Demonstrable engineering development knowledge with component design and manufacturing techniques such as metal forming, injection moulding & pressings
  • Excellent working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Closures Systems (Lids and/or Door systems) production and manufacturing technologies
  • Proven ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
  • Previous experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Experience in module team delivery
