SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Estates Deliverables
-
To be accountable and responsible for the care and development of a group of academies Estates, ensuring deliverables are monitored and tracked, including but not limited to:
- Health, Safety and regulatory implementation;
- Premises management and development;
- Building and grounds maintenance;
- Cleaning;
- Delivery of capital projects;
- Estates procurement and contract management;
- Environmental management and sustainability;
- Travel and vehicle management;
- Supporting lettings in academies;
- To ensure that delivery of the Estates service is consistent across the region;
- To work with the Head of Resources, other Regional Estates Managers and the Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to ensure consistency of delivery across the Trust’s estate;
- Support expansion and refurbishment of existing academies;
- Support the integration of additional Free Schools and academies joining the Trust.
Line Management of Site Managers
- Ensure consistent expectations are communicated and met;
- Ensure that areas of responsibility are allocated clearly to the Site Manager
- Provide professional supervision, coaching and mentoring of staff
- Responsible for the management of all staff within region. This includes staff performance, development and annual appraisal through to sickness absence management
- Drive a collaborative culture amongst Site Managers and site teams to support academies effectively;
- Guide and support Site Managers to proactively support Academy Leadership Teams to ensure the Estate and its operations support educational goals effectively;
- Ensure Site Managers, operatives are effectively managed.
Relationship Management & Communication
- To build effective, professional relationships Academy Leadership Teams and wider Academy teams;
- Meet formally with each Academy Manager, providing updates and ensuring that action plans are agreed, reviewed and delivered against;
- Ensure that agreed action plans are communicated effectively to all stakeholders on Estate’s deliverables as requested;
- Manage and monitor the use of the Estates helpdesk system and H&S Compliance systems.
Budget Management
- Ensure that budgets are set annually;
- Provide input in the Trust Budget setting process.
- Direct Capital priorities at each Academy in your care.
- Oversee and regularly monitor the regional Estates budget to ensure they meet targets and achieving efficiency through strong budget management and cost control.
- Authorise orders as per the Trust Scheme of Delegation.
