With the ability to connect to existing assets such as Building Management Systems, Energy Systems, Process Automation Controllers (used to power factories and industrial systems) the Hark Platform is enabling intelligent solutions across large estates connectivity, visibility, and intelligence.
Hark have deployed successful solutions within the Life Sciences sector for cold chain monitoring, a nationwide rollout of real-time energy monitoring capability for UK Supermarkets across 600+ locations, as well as licensed the technology to Fortune 500 companies in the industrial space.
Hark are controlling assets such as Lights, HVAC systems and Energy Storage assets for a varied set of purposes which creates future business opportunities, as these solutions use the same technology and same underlying core platform.
We are working with 2 of the top 4 supermarkets and have solutions deployed across retail, life sciences and manufacturing. The Hark Platform is helping alert Energy Managers and Asset Operators to abnormalities across their estate, informing actions such as preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, asset control and energy management.

About the Role
We are looking for a talented Technical Business Analyst to become part of our team. An excellent communicator both verbal and written, someone who is passionate about creating high-quality documentation as well as diagrams within the world of technology.
This person will have the opportunity to delve into the world of Energy, Renewables, IoT, Industrial Assets and cloud technology. Current and previous deployments include the use of Energy Storage Systems, Wind Farms, Chemical Plants, Refrigeration Systems, Glass Furnaces and many other types of industrial assets.
Day to day you will be contributing to deployments that support or utilise:
- Energy Management and Solutions
- Electricity Systems and the Grid
- Building Management Systems
- SCADA and Process Automation
You will work across departments and alongside customers to help us understand the challenges, requirements with emphasis on technical specifics and technical planning using the Hark Platform as part of the end solutions.
As part of the role you will have the opportunity to visit customers and locations where Hark technology is deployed, while this is not a requirement we do encourage occasional site visits to:
You will:
- Work with key business stakeholders, understanding requirements, reviewing current capabilities that could meet them of help them look at new capabilities, building roadmaps for services
- Be responsible for the creation or helping shape with the wider business RFPs, RFIs and general proposals by writing them and reviewing feedback
- Contribute to solutions designs in both written and verbal form, including problem solving across complex customer deployments
- Support the team writing documentation and content in collaboration with engineering, product, sales and marketing teams
- Support the product engineering teams and other team members with queries on solution requirements and how this may align into feature requirements for delivery
- Contribute to the enhancement of the experience of our customers
- Promote innovation in the use of technology to add business value where applicable
- Provide technical analysis across projects which will include producing technical design documents in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and diagramming tools where needed.
- Support the definition of technical specification, definitions and standards, which will be utilised across the product and end customer solutions
- Support the improvement of internal processes related to solutions design to ensure the team stays productive as we are onboard new customers
- Understand how solutions should fit together, what Service Level Agreements are required for customers and how the collective team can support those requirements

Assist the product and solutions team with output creation such as work package definitions, and workshop write-ups and product requirements.
What we need from you:
Essential skills & experience
- Strong business analysis background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent skills in grammar, documentation design and information architecture
- Strategic thinker, capable of balancing long-term and immediate business requirements
- Balanced business and technical understanding
- Proactive self-starter comfortable with working as a small team shaping a strategic roadmap
- Positive outlook in meeting challenges
- Experience writing, editing, researching, and planning software and hardware documentation for internal and external audiences
- Understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of teams across the business
- Previous experience within role like this, or Business Analysis degree or equivalent
- Comfortable with communicating directly with customers
- Knowledge of cloud and on-premises technology infrastructure such as networking
- An understanding of SaaS services, the value they bring, and what moving to SaaS means organisationally
- Exposure to cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar
- Previous exposure or experience in or around Energy Management, Industrial Automation, Building Management Systems or similar
- Experience working within a technology company and an understanding of technology would be advantageous
