We are currently recruiting for a Technical Assistant to support the work of the Planning Policy team. This is a chance to get involved in a range of development planning projects. The work will include mapping and updating IT based systems for our records and operations. You will also help to organise information held by the team. The job involves dealing with enquiries from the public and developers and there will be opportunities to get involved in public consultations on the local plan and other policy documents for development in Medway.

The Planning Policy team’s work involves producing a new local plan for Medway, as a framework for how the area should develop up to 2040. The team gathers and analyses information, such as housing, transport, and the environment. We collect funding from developers to improve services in line with planned new housing and jobs.

The team has a busy and varied work programme and the job will allow you to use a range of IT and organisational skills.
