Job description
We currently have 1 temporary role available for Technical Operator based at our Blaenavon site. The temporary contract will be until 31st December 2023.
The AM shift will be from 6*:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. The hourly rate of pay is £12.09.*
You will carry out duties as instructed by Production Management/Working Line Leader in an efficient and effective timely manner and in accordance with all Company Manufacturing procedures in compliance with Food Safety Legislation and the Company Quality System.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Where relevant, requesting of raw materials through formal requisitions in accordance with production plans, allowing sufficient time for tempering of materials, stores collection and transfer of ingredients/materials to production etc.
- To be able to use and understand the company operational system (SI).
- Preparation of materials as required for mix sheets inc. scanning Intermediates
- Correct stock rotation within the area of control, through application and monitoring of appropriate labels. To be the responsible person for the returns process and monitoring of held stock through daily chiller date life checks sheets.
- To maintain the cleanliness of the area throughout the shift and enforce the CAYG policy ensuring correct GMP at all times.
- Completion of Paperwork.
- Responsible for the effective operation of the processes and machine setup/settings and any associated paperwork and procedures in line with relevant work instructions, walking the lines and highlighting any machinery related problems to the WLL or Engineers
- Ensuring Line standards are visible, in place and being followed
- All line start up paperwork (Technical/Production/H&S) is completed for the appropriate equipment in area
Qualifications, Experience and Person Specification:
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or Higher
- Good Level of Maths
- Good Level of written and spoken English
- Understanding of food manufacturing processes
Key Tasks/Results:
· Safety
- Ensure that the area of control is compliant with Health and Safety and Food Safety at all times, in line with the company documented H&S and Quality System.
- Reporting of any hazards, accidents & near misses to management team.
· Quality
- To adhere to the Company Quality System at all times.
- To maintain quality standards through accurate weighing and completion of paperwork.
- To notify the QA department of any deviations from specification of either the raw materials or the ability to accurately document information e.g. scales malfunction, missing batch information etc.
- Understand allergen and organic raw material controls.
· Documentation
- To ensure all documentation is correctly completed in accordance with work instructions within the correct timeframes and is collected and submitted to the relevant personnel when complete.
- To retain copies of all material requisitions to the warehouse (Prep).
· Performance
- Monitor, track and improve departmental efficiencies and attainment to plan as instructed by Production Manager and/or Working Line Leader.
- Ensure SIC data is recorded accurately and react accordingly to any issues in order to hit plan.
- To ensure Line start-ups are on time every shift, thoroughly communicating any issues to the management team.
· Security
- To ensure security of both the area of control, equipment and the site in general, at all times.
· Continuous Improvement
- To support the Working Line Leader in order to achieve the departmental objectives and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
- Use staff in a way that adds value to the business during instances of downtime (Cleaning, assisting other lines etc).
· Training
- To liaise with Training Dept identifying any requirements for training.
- To understand the need to be trained in various areas of the factory and provide cover to meet the needs of the business when called upon.
