About us
Oxfordshire County Council has a dynamic Public Health team, committed to improving health outcomes of residents in Oxfordshire. This is an important time for our Public Health service, as we address local health needs as well as tackle the wider impacts of the pandemic.
The council has strategic priorities of addressing inequalities, prioritising health and well-being, tackling climate change, and improving access to nature and green spaces - all of which align closely with the public health agenda.
As the Public Health Directorate Business Administration team, we support the Public Health Directorate in its efforts to address inequalities and improve county-wide health and community outcomes while delivering the best possible support to both internal and external customers.
You will enjoy building positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues and key stakeholders.
About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to join our dynamic Business Administration Support team as a Team Support Officer.
As a Team Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative and organisational support to our team, enabling the best possible support to be provided to both internal and external customers.
About you
You will have excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work well under pressure. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, external partners, and suppliers. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have experience in using electronic document management systems.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a busy office environment, with an understanding of the workings of local government and/or the public health sector.
In return, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a generous pension scheme and flexible working arrangements. You will have the opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic team, and to contribute to the improvement of public health outcomes across the UK.
Rewards and benefits
It really is true that every single job role here contributes to bettering the lives of the people in our county - we want to do this for our employees too. We are proud of our strong flexible working culture, including the opportunity for flexibility on working hours and the use of technology to support agile working. We offer some of the best learning and development opportunities to support your ongoing development.
We have a generous holiday allowance which rises as you remain in employment with us up to 32 days, as well as giving you the option to buy additional holiday. You will also have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of up to 19.9% of your salary; a range of local and national retail discounts; and a host of enhanced family friendly policies including carers leave and paid time off for volunteering.
