Job description
Team Member Nights - YHA Bristol
YHA Bristol are looking to recruit a Night Team Member for 17 - 42.5 hours per week.
YHA Bristol is a former waterfront grain house which has been sympathetically restored to offer relaxed, well-appointed accommodation amongst city-centre surroundings, ideal for a cheap city break or weekend away. The hostel’s bustling bar and stylishly decorated reception area is a great place to meet up with friends and make plans for your stay. It complements the industrial feel to the building and embodies both the vibrancy and quirkiness of Bristol as a destination.
What can YHA offer you?
YHA Bristol is somewhere a little different, certainly not your average office. YHA offers a fantastic benefits package including:
- We pay £10.42 per hour (this role is flexible, minimum 17 hours per week, permanent contract)
- You will get access to YHA’s staff discount and cash back portal
- Free YHA Membership each year
- 10 nights free hostel stays per year for you and up to 3 friends or family
There’s lots more benefits to working for YHA so please visit our YHA Jobs website to find out more.
What will you be doing as a Night Team Member?
Our night team members cover a wide range of customer-facing duties throughout the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors so they have a great experience at YHA.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Ensuring the security of the hostel
- Working on reception
- Preparing reports
- Ensuring regular hostel inspections
- Carrying out cleaning duties
- Preparing the breakfast service
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Team Member?
We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements. It’s an advantage but not essential that our night team members have experience volunteering or working with other people. However you will need to be flexible to cover other shifts and tasks.
Duties vary so good communication skills and basic IT skills are advantageous. A food safety qualification is desirable but not essential.
How do you apply?
Submit your CV and complete the application form (it’s a short one, we promise!). If you need any assistance, please visit the contact page on the YHA Jobs website and someone from the team will help you.
