The Role: Stampede Work Experience – Night Crew, Ages 17+
(Contract role in July – Full Time & Part time positions)

Since 1972, the Calgary Stampede Paid Work Experience Program has been providing youth and young adults the opportunity to gain valuable employment skills and experience as they work in teams throughout the Calgary Stampede Grounds These teams are responsible for keeping Stampede Park clean during the 11 days of the greatest outdoor show on earth!

Trellis and the Stampede Work Experience Program are currently looking for dedicated youth & adults to be a part of our Night Crew.

Shift is Approximately 7-8hrs shift between 9:00pm and 9:00am

During the Trellis Stampede Work Experience Program, we provide a supportive environment in which to share your experience, develop your skills, and take on new challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to work between 9pm-9am *please outline in your cover-letter what your availability is during this time frame
  • Sweeping up garbage and litter, ensuring areas are clean
  • Emptying garbage cans throughout the grounds and delivering bags by cart to designated areas
  • Work collaboratively with PM crews & Stampede Maintenance team
  • Troubleshoot and display critical thinking skills
  • Willing to learn and follow directions from supervisors and Trellis staff
  • Work diligently throughout the entire shift within a team
  • Proper care of provided equipment and supplies
  • Positive attitude and appropriate workplace behaviour
  • Able to be mobile for 6-8hrs, outside for the duration of shift in a variety of weather situations

Qualifications:
  • To apply to Night Crew applicants should be at least 17 years of age.
  • Be available to work all 11 days of Stampede (July 6th -16th 2023) (Full time positions)
  • Be able to work 4-5 days of Stampede (for part time positions between July 9-14th)
  • Be able to legally work in Canada (SIN # required) *OR email us if you do not have
  • Be able to attend the Stampede training seminar July 28th or 29th
  • Display a positive attitude and appropriate workplace behaviour
  • Willing to work within a team and open to learning and feedback.
