Pownall Hall School are recruiting for a term time only Catering Team Member to join their highly regarded catering team. In March this year, we were awarded a 5* hygiene rating, commended by Cheshire East’s Environmental Health Agency Officer for many aspects, from our catering teams high standards within the kitchen and ability to cater for different allergies, to their use of local suppliers and daily fresh food deliveries.

Pownall Hall is a ‘magical’ prep school, based within simply beautiful 8-acre leafy grounds in Wilmslow, providing ‘excellent in all areas’ provision for 6 months to 11 years old.

Skills and responsibilities for the role
The ideal candidate will have existing knowledge of food safety and food handling procedures and regulations.
As a Catering Team Member, your role will involve:
- Following and promoting guidance on nutrition and healthy eating, with a willingness and ability to understand individuals dietary requirements
- Monitoring and replenishing food stocks
- Prepare and serve food for childrens lunch, dinner and snacks throughout working hours
- Clean the kitchen, dining room, food spills, dishes and kitchen equipment, and tend to food waste, including a deep clean of the kitchen and dining room as scheduled
- Attend Safeguarding training and meetings, and complete Safeguarding training as and when requested by the school
- Follow school Health & Safety policies, procedures and drills such as Fire Safety
- Follow excellent personal hygiene standards
- Maintain the highest level of personal and professional conduct
- Flexible and willingness to undertake additional requirements of the school during events such as Speech Days and Open Days
In addition to the above, we are looking for someone able to build rapport with children and staff, who is a keen team player, and who shares our passion for healthy nutrition, sustainability and the welfare of the children in our care.
The ideal working hours for this role are 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Our school holidays equate to approximately 16 weeks off per year, plus bank holidays.
