Pub & Dining encapsulates the relaxed atmosphere of a suburban local pub. The Crutched Friars (cross-bearing brethren) was a Roman Catholic order which settled on this site in 1249. Named after the staff they carried, surmounted by a crucifix, the order was suppressed by Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries (1536–41). Today, our guests enjoy our large selection of cask ales in the historic building where the friars once lived.
