What will you be doing

  • The individual will be responsible for leading the Middle East market team in the UK International Private Bank.
  • The individual will be responsible for the management and development of Private Bankers in the Middle East team, leading key initiatives and providing SME expertise to support the business. They will instil a high performance culture across the team, role modelling Barclays Mind Set and Values, whilst formally supervising regulated activities and conducting reviews based on our balanced scorecard.
  • This is a core leadership role within the UK International PB, providing overall support to the business head with regards to suitability and day-to-day issue resolution. The individual fosters an atmosphere of compliance, ensures regulations are observed, and embeds the relevant processes in place for employees to escalate problems.

What we’re looking for

  • Be a “known name” in the Middle East market
  • Have had demonstrable success in managing teams, clients and colleagues across a multi-matrixed market as a Leader
  • Demonstrate first-class written and oral communication skills – must be able to communicate clearly and credibly with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in producing clear and concise briefings to senior audiences
  • Be able to demonstrate a structured approach with excellent planning, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Action orientated with a strong track record of delivering to a high standard
  • Broad experience of the financial services industry, particularly in the areas of retail regulated products and services
  • Experience of managing a team with an ability to provide coaching to staff on an individual and team level.

Skills that will help you in your role

  • Have significant experience across the Middle East markets including but not limited to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt Qatar
  • Educated to degree level or above.
  • Proven ability to establish and sustain clear operational process for teams of people.
  • Preferable Language skills -Arabic
