Our FCB Coffee in West London (Paddington station W2) is looking for a Team Leader!

A Team Leader will provide the foundations to allow our Baristas and Deli Chefs the room to do what they do best and is responsible for everything that comes in and goes out of our shops. Ensuring our teams and our customers are happy. This development pathway leads into becoming a supervisor and then eventually, a Store Manager. You will be an important cog in the operational machine, as you are our day-to-day leader. You will find a list of your responsibilities below, as well as our starting requirements
The ideal candidate will be able to work on weekends - Saturday and Sunday - morning shift 5:30 to 14:00 for a total of 16 hours/week
Responsibilities:
Sales:
- Sales focussed shifts – the store and the team are ready to make money and know what their aiming for.
- The team are deployed and have clear targets and instructions – they know what they’re doing
- All displays are kept on top of and are full, straight, and clean, everything has a label.
- Commercial awareness – daily, weekly targets, understands their impact on the wider performance of the business.
Standards:
- Day to day running of the shop – opening and closing.
- Shift leadership – deployment, restocking, presentation, speed of service, product quality, customer satisfaction.
- Places any orders in the absence of a manager/supervisor to maintain the right stock levels.
- Completes daily and weekly paperwork (temperature checks, weekly and daily cleaning lists, opening checklists)
- Ensures that all team members have the correct station ID or are signed in at the station office.
Brand Standards:
- Makes sure that we are delivering the correct brand experience to our customers, following the ‘Brand Standards’
- Logs any maintenance issues that may arise to the Head of Coffee or Head of Food.
Service:
- World class customer service – Our customers are the reason we’re all here, they need to be served quickly and attentively.
- Shop floor is kept clean, and we always look our best. We are open on time, and we close at the right time.
- Deals with any customer complaints with an instant resolution to ensure that our customers always leave happy.
- All our products are available, all of the time –including Filter Coffee, Guest Roast from open to close
People:
- Corrective coaching where required to team members, whether that be on shift or from the day before (E.g., if the close wasn’t to our standard) – This is done face to face!
- First contact for any immediate team issues.

Skills and requirements :
- Up to date knowledge and genuine interest/ passion for the coffee business
- Demonstrate the behaviours required for a team leader – ownership, teamwork and urgency
- Barista skills and ability to free pour a variety of latte art consistently would be an advantage
- Knowledge of hand-brew methods and desire to learn more would be an advantage
- Good spoken and written English
- Great customer service skills
- Ability to work at speed and under pressure
You will be working with and helping to maintain equipment such as:
- La Marzocco Linea PB two group
- Mythos One, Anfim and Mahlkonig EK43
Please note that you must be able to get to Paddington station EARLY for 5:30 start. Evening shifts finish at 21:30.
