Job description
Coventry University is a leading innovator in education committed to creating better futures by empowering students and communities to transform their lives and society through teaching, learning research and enterprise. We are gold rated in the government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and ranked joint top Modern University for career prospects (The Guardian University Guide 2021 and 2022).
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has a broad provision of health and social care courses that lead to professional registration: Dietetics, Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic, Physiotherapy, Diagnostic Radiography, Clinical Psychology and Social Work. The Faculty is now creating a dedicated Practice Education Support Unit with the aim of supporting and enabling growth across practice education which is a key component of all courses that lead to registration as a health and social care professional. The Practice Education Support Unit will be a link between students and practice partners within the health and social care community and will work in partnership with University staff and practice partners working across the geographical areas we operate in (Coventry, Scarborough and London).
Staff working within the Unit will utilise information from practice partners to support and develop placement capacity, oversee supply of uniforms to students and will monitor and encourage applicant and student engagement with Occupational Health, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and any such other requirements for placement commencement. The Unit will be the key point of contact for students and practice partners during student placements and will oversee monitoring of students throughout their placement, ensuring that placement delivery can be assured as meeting the quality standards set out by Professional Statutory and Regulatory Bodies.
We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Team Leader who can demonstrate a commitment to providing an excellent service to students and our practice partners. The successful candidate will have a background in administration, strong problem solving and excellent customer care skills.
