ITF ROLE OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Team Lead, World Tennis Tour
REPORTING TO: Manager, ITF World Tennis Tour, Operations
DEPARTMENT: ITF Tours and Player Pathway
LOCATION: Roehampton, South West London
Please note that we are currently working to a hybrid model of work which requires a mandatory
minimum of 3 days working in our office based in Roehampton, London.
International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the world governing body of tennis. Founded in 1913, its
purpose is to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the sport, delivering tennis for future
generations in association with its 213-member nations. The ITF oversees the rules and regulations that
govern international and national competition.
The ITF is responsible for the worldwide development of tennis through its Development Programme, its
Science and Technical department which monitors equipment and technology, and its Officiating
department which oversees the education and advancement of officials.
The ITF organises over 1,500 weeks of men’s, women’s, and junior tournaments on the ITF World Tennis
Tour, and manages the ITF junior team competitions, ITF Beach Tennis Tour, UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis
Tour and the ITF Seniors Circuit. The ITF is the owner and rightsholder of the two largest annual
international team competitions in tennis, Davis Cup by Rakuten and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge
and manages the Olympic Tennis Event on behalf of the IOC. The ITF upholds the highest standards of
integrity and is a partner in the International Tennis Integrity Agency.
Overview of World Tennis Tour Team:
The World Tennis Tour team is responsible for delivering the world-wide ITF women’s and men’s
professional tournaments. In 2022 over 1,050 tournaments were delivered in 60 countries. Tournaments
offer prize money of $15,000 and $25,000 (women and men), as well as higher value $40,000, $60,000,
$80,000 and $100,000 tournaments (women only).
Purpose:
The role has two main purposes:
- Calendar Support. Working with the Head, World Tennis Tour, Strategy and Pathway to plan the
National Associations and other key stakeholders to grow the number of tournaments in existing
and new countries.
- Operational Delivery and Projects. To assist the operations of the Tour including, but not limited
processes, ranking systems, Code of Conduct and rules and regulations activities; to manage
certain operational projects to meet the strategic ambitions of the Tour.
Responsibilities:
Calendar Support
- Responsible for: managing applications from National and Regional Associations; assessing the
Tennis Tour calendar; prompt and professional communication.

- Assisting the Head, ITF World Tennis Tour, Strategy and Pathway, to work with National
organisers and players.
- Identification of calendar opportunities for new or higher prize money tournaments, and
- Assistance in managing the World Tennis Tour budget in respect to the calendar, including
- Developing excellent relationships with National Associations to build trust with mutually
Operational Delivery and Projects
- Provide a high level of customer service to all stakeholders, with a particular focus on inbox
and Regional/National Association queries.
- Assist with tournament Entries, Withdrawals and Acceptance List processing.
- Assist with import of rankings (from ATP and WTA) and processing of the ITF World Rankings.
- Assist with maintaining the Code of Conduct system including liaison with officials, tournament
- Assist with Committee meeting preparations and follow up, and attend meetings as required.
- Work on specific projects as and when assigned.
As the needs of the business can change rapidly this role may change accordingly, therefore this

You will have…
✓ Sound experience and understanding of professional tennis, including National Association
activities and structure; professional tennis event operations; rules and regulations; and internal
and external committees.
✓ Effective interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills are important, and the ability to
manage relationships within a team.
✓ Excellent time management, skilled in delivery of multiple and complex projects and delivering to
hard deadlines.
✓ Strong administration skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
✓ Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative in an efficient and timely manner.
✓ Integrity, diplomacy, and accountability.
✓ Fluent in both written and spoken English; additional European language(s) desirable.
✓ Flexibility. Hours can be long and weekend travel may be part of the role.
