Job Title: Team Clerk – 37.5 hrs per week

About the Trust

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of only three dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK and provides integrated healthcare for children and young people, including community and mental health care as well as acute and specialist services. We provide a full range of services for residents of Sheffield and South Yorkshire as well as specialised services for patients from across the United Kingdom.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • To support the SPA in maintaining an efficient system of recording and tracking of up-to-date information on the status of Autism and ADHD referrals.
  • Monitor and follow up outstanding Autism and ADHD questionnaires from families and schools.
  • Request all associated supporting documents for referrals.
  • Responsibility for chasing supporting documents.
  • Maintenance of departmental databases and spreadsheets
  • Maintain SPA spreadsheets to ensure recording of questionnaires received is kept up to date.
  • Use of patient administration systems including Careflow and EDMSto check and update patient information.
  • Uploading Autism and ADHD questionnaires
  • Accurate recording and continued updating of referral status.
  • Ongoing liaison with families and schools regarding referral process and obtaining questionnaires.
  • Establishing good levels of communication with other staff to ensure a smooth referral process.
  • Tracking SPA process to ensure families and schools are contacted in a timely manner.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  • System knowledge – Careflow and EDMSto
  • Experience in a similar role
  • NHS experience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
