Birkbeck's Marketing and External Relations department are accepting applications from current students to join Team Birkbeck, the College's student ambassador programme.
As a Team Birkbeck Student, you will be part of a group of like-minded individuals who are able to promote Birkbeck on a number of digital platforms, and be on hand to represent Birkbeck at a variety of events and activities, including Open Days/Evenings,HE and School Fairs and campus tours. For this round of Team Birkbeck recruitment, we particularly encourage Mandarin speakers to apply.
Ideally, you will be:
- Currently studying at Birkbeck on a undergraduate or postgraduate course (Home, EU and International)
- Passionate about Birkbeck’s mission and the benefits of evening study
- Able to deliver excellent customer service
- Able to effectively communicate, both written and orally, with a diverse range of people
- Welcoming, approachable and polite
- Positive and have a can-do attitude
- Outstanding listeners
- Reliable and have excellent time management
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Aware of the issues and challenges prospective students may have when considering studying at Higher Education level.
- Enthusiastic about producing content for a variety of channels including social media, Birkbeck’s Unibuddy chat platform, college website, blogs, vlogs, email and any other channels as required.
- Able to represent and promote Birkbeck on the online platform Unibuddy, answering general enquiries from prospective students within 24 hours, providing information, advice and guidance to prospective students.
- Native level of Mandarin is highly desirable.

Remuneration:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £12.90 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked.
