Job description

Do you have experience teaching science areas related to food systems at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, with an established background in food or natural sciences? Are you passionate about providing an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University? Would you like to champion equitable access to knowledge and its application worldwide, by working closely on digital education with partners in Africa? You will play a central teaching role in a pilot education project to support the U.N. Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) of zero hunger, good health, climate action and life on land. The pilot is the first step to create a Global Network for Sustainable Development. You will work in a team including research and education professionals from U. Leeds, together with U. Pretoria and U. Cape Town in South Africa. You will draw on the content of existing MSc. courses and new material from cutting edge research, to design, develop and help teach the academic content for online Masters-level training modules and microcredentials. You will work with the team to implement the course material that you develop on a shared online platform that is supported by digital education services experts at U. Leeds and our overseas partners. You will be based in the School of Food Science and Nutrition, working with academic staff across the University as part of the Global Food and Environment Institute. You will work closely with the leadership team of the Institute’s MSc in Sustainable Food Systems and with MSc programmes in Food Science and Nutrition. Your role will provide a substantial contribution to the University’s Digital Education Strategy.
