Job description
The children, staff and governors at Birch Hill Primary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, hardworking team working. The successful candidates should have experience of working with children and be enthusiastic with a sense of humour. This role will include supporting children in class, in small groups and working 1:1 with children with SEND. Duties will also include assisting with medication, doing a daily lunch duty and class administration tasks as required.
Birch Hill is a popular two form entry primary school with a Nursery. The school is well resourced and has extensive outside space including an ‘Edible Playground’. In addition we have a Special Resource Provision (SRP) to fully support children with a diagnosis of Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), plus an additional Nurture Room. There are currently 400 children on roll.
Birch Hill Primary was judged Good in our Ofsted report (October 2019).

Scale J/K (SCP 1-6), Salary range is £20,258 - £21,968 FTE plus London Weighting
Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm term time + 3 INSETs
