Newton Prep is a successful and dynamic school for children between the ages of 3 and 13 situated at the heart of one of London’s most exciting areas in Nine Elms; conveniently situated close to Battersea Park and Queenstown Road BR stations and the new London Underground Northern Line Battersea Power Station. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (ideally with an NVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare) to work in one of our KS1 classes. This is a permanent, full-time (term time only) position, starting 30th August 2023.
Working under the supervision of a qualified teacher you must be able to work independently and be capable of working with small groups of children in order to be able to support their learning and assess their progress and development. Applicants must have strong written and oral communication skills; a strong work ethic; the ability to work as part of a cohesive team combined with good organisational skills and the ability to form and maintain positive suitable relationships with children.
Salary is in a range of £22,000 to £24,644 (actual pro rated salary for full-time, term time only) depending on qualifications and experience. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.45pm term time only.
