Working under the guidance of an experienced SENCO, you will be assigned several SEN students to support throughout the school day. The needs of the students will vary from child to child which makes this role particularly appealing to individuals seeking a broad array of SEN experience.
Playing an integral part as a member of the school’s SEN team, you will help to plan and deliver interventions designed to enhance the engagement of pupils whilst they are at school. You will provide in-class support, de-escalate challenging situations, promote inclusivity and help create enjoyable and accessible lesson content.
1:1 and small group sessions will form the main basis of the support you provide as a SEN Teaching Assistant. There will be times throughout the school day where you provide whole class support.
