We’re looking for a competent Teacher Assistant to help our lead Teachers in educating our students. You’ll get to work with children of various ages and educational needs, while learning how to craft effective lesson plans and organize classrooms.
As a Teacher Assistant, you’ll be responsible for individual students – or smaller groups of students – who need assistance to absorb the lesson material. You’ll work with the lead Teacher to build plans for class and you’ll also help them with record- keeping.
To do this job well, you should have solid communication skills and compassion for others. Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks you will be offered a part time teaching assistant role in one of our classrooms.
Main purpose of the job:
To implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources
To supervise whole classes normally up to a maximum of three days per absence during the short- term absence of teachers. The primary focus will be to maintain safety, good order and to keep pupils on task. Cover Supervisors will need to respond to questions and generally assist pupils to undertake set activities.

To make decisions using initiative where appropriate within established working practices.
The post holder will be expected to use good common sense and initiative in all matters relating to:
- the conduct and behaviour of individuals, groups of pupils and whole classes
- the correct use and care of materials by individual and small groups of pupils
- the safety, mobility (if required) and hygiene and well-being of the pupils
Part-time hours: 5 per week
