JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, pro-active Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning at Norton Hill Primary School in Midsomer Norton. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis.
Accompanying groups on trips.
Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
A can-do attitude.
A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
Previous Childcare experience.
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification - Support with gaining qualification can be given for the right candidate

Start Date: 1st September 2023
Hours: 33.5 hours per week, term time only plus 2 inset days.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 3.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Salary: Dependant on qualification
Candidate with Level 3 Qualification: Actual starting salary £17,167
Candidate with Level 2 Qualification: Actual starting salary: £16,558
Candidate with no qualification: Actual starting salary: £15,972
