Job Description

Flourish Education is currently recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to work with a Primary school near Knowle to join their support staff team. The school take every opportunity to teach pupils how to value and respect each other and develop a positive self-image.

Our client wants to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support on a one to one basis for a child with SEN in a Year 6 class. The child has moderate learning difficulties. Responsibilities in this role include supporting the child to meet their individual needs, monitoring their progress and raising attainment.

This Teaching Assistant role is to start in September and will continue until the end of the academic year. The hours of the role are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:45-12:30 and Wednesday 8:45-14:05.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Effectively manage the engagement of the child
  • Motivating and encouraging the child
  • Support with learning and development
  • Liaising with SLT, SENDCO and parents
  • Commitment to the role
