Hewett Academy is one of the most iconic schools in Norwich. We were graded as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in our last inspection. Since then we have built strong relationships with our community and pride ourselves on being a highly inclusive school in which children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds walk alongside the most diverse student population in Norwich. Our students demonstrate respect for each other and their teachers through calm and purposeful attitude around school, in lessons and during Hewett Lunch. We aspire to bridge the disadvantage gap for which the four pieces our students exhibited in the Royal Academy of Arts last year are a testament. This is achieved through our dedication to our community and the ambitious and broad knowledge-rich curriculum we provide. Once you are part of Hewett, you always will be - come and join the family.
History is part of our humanities department which has seen a three year rising trend in results and positive P8 scores. You’ll also be a part of the wider Inspiration Trust History subject community too which gives you the opportunity to train and liaise with a large number of historians from across Norfolk and North Suffolk.
We can be flexible as to how the 0.5 hours are arranged over the week and a conversation with Principal Antony Little or Head of Humanities Simon Goodwin is encouraged if you wish to discuss this further. They can be contacted via Carina Nicolson on [email protected]
