Your opportunity
- The corporate tax associate works within the London tax team to support tax reporting and compliance. They report to the Senior Tax Manager in London.
- Support the timely delivery of US GAAP reporting to external shareholders, through the preparation of annual and quarterly tax calculations for our EMEA business (primarily UK, and with some other European territories)
- Preparation of tax calculations for statutory accounts for companies in the UK and managing the preparation of tax calculations for companies in other European jurisdictions, in conjunction with our external advisers
- Support monthly tax reporting and the effective control of tax in the general ledger
- Support tax compliance such as the preparation of tax returns, payment of tax, correspondence with the tax authorities, and supporting work on new tax legislation and guidance
- Support internal tax controls and maintain essential tax records and process documentation within a SOX environment
- Assist the delivery of corporation tax advice relating to UK and international business, such as funding, structuring, transfer pricing and risk management
- Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills
- Financial accounting experience with prior experience of tax compliance and accounting
- Able to work with attention to detail and with a high level of accuracy
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a clear focus on quality of delivery
- Energetic team member with enthusiasm for learning
- Ability to challenge information, data and outcomes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with people at different levels of the business
- Confident in their own abilities and able to work autonomously within a team environment
- Strong spreadsheet skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Accounting qualification, or part-qualified and working towards completion.
Nice to have skills
- Previous experience of corporation tax in a financial services environment.
- Experience of financial reporting systems and ledgers.
- Experience of tax compliance software such as AlphaTax or Thompson Reuters OneSource Corporate Tax
