What you'll do:
- You will manage and review monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns
- You will manage and review filings for property tax, business licenses, unclaimed property, and VAT/GST for all states, provinces, and foreign countries
- You will manage and review monthly tax accruals, journal entries and related supporting documentation, and related balance sheet reconciliations
- You will proactively monitor, analyze, and interpret state and local tax legislative changes
- You will research product taxability, resale/tax exemption certificate and license rules by jurisdiction
- You will assist with tax credit analysis
- You will assist with various projects, including new system implementations
- You will assist with income tax accounting and compliance
- You will research and assist with ad-hoc tax projects, including tax planning
- You will coach, mentor, and develop staff
What it takes to succeed:
- You have at least 5+ years of relevant experience in a tax, accounting, or finance related position
- You have strong technological skills and are willing to learn new tools.
- You are highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You can manage multiple projects and deadlines
- You have the ability to delegate and mentor, demonstrating a team-oriented mentality
- You have confidence in working with people at all organizational levels within Yelp
- Internet or software industry experience (Preferred)
- B.S. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (Preferred)
- Certified Public Accounting license (Preferred)
- Experience with Avalara, Alteryx, and Oracle (Preferred)

- Compensation range for this position is $112,000- $188,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.
