About the role
Looking to demonstrate your extensive International Tax experience? Join us a Europe and UK Tax Manager where you can deliver high quality tax compliance and tax management support across direct, indirect and cross border taxes for the UK and Europe, UK group entities and UK and European operating entities.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll report to the Group Finance Director, where you will have Oversight and support of all UK, Ireland, Italy and European tax compliance including (but not limited to) income tax returns, VAT returns, payroll tax obligations and other tax related reporting obligations. We’re looking for someone who can provide advice and technical expertise, guidance and influence in relation to tax compliance and specific tax queries. This is a role that can make a huge impact!
Day to day you will also:
Provide assistance and support of Group head office entities tax compliance including income taxes, VAT, payroll and other tax related reporting obligations
Assist with the preparation and review of the consolidated Group tax provision in conjunction with the financial reporting team and external tax advisors
Manage, assist and maintain the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions for the UK and European entities
Prepare and present of high-quality Audit and Risk Committee Board papers
Liaise and support businesses with tax authorities in relation to any tax matters as required
Lead and assist tax and finance projects including automation, systems improvements, continuous process improvement
Over the next year you will develop the oversight plan for tax compliance reporting in conjunction with the UK and European operating units including operating procedures for all tax processes across income and indirect taxes. You will also be focussed on managing the technology implementation of tax systems and resources.
Success in this role will be delivering the successful and accurate completion of all tax returns and tax reporting by the required deadlines, completion of projects and implementation on time of key technology and tax improvement processes as well as completion of income tax and indirect tax operating procedures.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be proactive, commercial, analytical, who is comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders, producing solutions, making judgements and thinking systemically. You’ll also bring:
Extensive and broad tax experience in professional / commercial tax environment gained from Big 4/top tier accounting firm or experience gained from previous corporate group tax roles
Experience with tax accounting under IFRS and UK GAAP
Proven experience in tax compliance and indirect tax compliance for the UK and EU countries
International Tax experience
Sound financial system knowledge preferably with SAP
