  • Ensuring all VAT accounting entries, payments and reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion and preparing journals, CHAPS payment requests and intercompany transfers as required.
  • Involvement in management of emails on VAT queries from the business and finance stakeholders, logging receipt and informing managers promptly of any issues or necessary actions.
  • Helping in dealing with VAT and IPT compliance queries and providing basic advice on own area of specialism.
  • Providing ad-hoc support on a wide range of compliance and assurance projects.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of VAT processes and systems to support the work of more senior colleagues.
  • Assisting in research work and the review of VAT accounting procedures.
  • Gathering information to enable internal queries and queries from HM Revenue and Customs to be answered.
  • Maintaining databases for VAT purposes and dealing with associated correspondence.
  • The ability to develop specialist knowledge within the field of indirect tax.
  • Keeping abreast of business and technical developments in own area of specialism and helping with the implementation and communication of changes.
What you'll need:
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Accuracy, time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Active participation in training initiatives and taking ownership of self-development.
  • Initiative and good people skills with ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues in all parts of the Group and with HM Revenue and Customs.
  • Relevant experience from a previous VAT compliance role is preferred. Support will be provided to the successful candidate to commence Tax/VAT professional qualifications as part of their self-development.

We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
