Background

Women’s Consortium aims to bridge the gap between disadvantaged communities and the rest of the city - working to address deprivation in West Birmingham and wider.

We provide a unique service that works on mental health prevention, short term interventions and through our secondary services long term interventions. We provide support to clients by helping them to gain the tools and knowledge to overcome root issues that may be contributing to mental health problems or crises.
We also signpost clients to specialist services if we’re not able to support them.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Therapists with a Talking
Therapy/IAPT background. The therapist will be located in our Birmingham office on
Broad Street, our London office on Angel Lane or work Remotely.

Main purpose of job:

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated therapists to work full time or part time within our Talking Therapies service with flexible working days between Mondays to
Sundays.

Providing mental health and wellbeing support to clients referred to us from NHS,
GP, Police, Hospitals; and self-referrals. You may also source your own referrals for
121s and Group Therapy sessions. You will be contributing to our secondary services for Counselling and further support if needed once you discharge your clients should they need further support. You will be managing all your admin related tasks with your clients, so working as part of the team you will need good administrative, time management and communication skills. You will be responsible for completing required training such as safeguarding to ensure compliance with your professional governing body and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

You will provide high and low intensity 121 and group sessions within the Talking
Therapies Stepped Care Model for adults and/or youth (if experienced in this area) with common mental health problems, such as depression and a range of anxiety disorders. We are looking for people with energy, enthusiasm and a high level of skills and experience.

All freelancers and staff will receive regular clinical and case management supervision, and have access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – 24/7
Employee Support Helpline including personal counselling support.

The Service Manager and The Clinical Lead

Location: (closest to candidate)

Birmingham - Broad Street and remote

London - Angel and remote

Compensation:

Full time: £15 X 1 Client per session
[£15 x 6 clients. x 5 days x 52 weeks] = £23,400 per annum

Part-time: £15 X 1 Client per session
[£15 x 6 clients. x 3 days x 52 weeks] = £14,040 per annum

Group Sessions: 5-10 clients per group (New client referrals)
Minimum £75 per hour (based on 5 clients per session)

Internal Workshops for existing clients on our waiting list: £35 per hour

Main tasks of your role:

1) Train to carry out triage tasks if needed.

2) Carry out triaging where you are not able to see clients and if needed (we currently have a triage practitioner and thus, this is only when needed)

3) See clients through our Talking Therapies program over 6, 8 or 12 weeks depending on whether the client requires low intensity or high intensity intervention support.

4) Train on IAPTUS (NHS client data management system) in order to manage client caseloads, to enter client data each week. Ensure all data/reporting for clients are entered during your sessions or just after (within 24hrs).

5) Ensure suitable support program for clients to follow and adapt to, offer a range of interventions where needed and support clients throughout their treatment.

6) Assess, plan and implement treatment, and manage potential withdrawal.

7) Signpost clients where they are required to see more specialist services, in emergency situations and for safeguarding purposes, signpost to internal and/or external services based on client’s need.

8) Develop group therapy presentations and sessions running over 4-6 weeks to support clients who are willing to attend group sessions.

9) Ensure all clients in group sessions data/reporting is completed after the group session has ended and before your next client or group session starts.

10) Provide reports when required for monitoring and statistics and report problems/difficulties/complaints to the line manager and person responsible.

11) Take required safeguarding training and ensure awareness of safeguarding procedures and important contact lists.

Licences, Registrations and Qualifications:

1) BACP or BABCP Registered Clinicians or equivalent registration recognised by the
NHS Talking Therapies.

2) Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma in one or more of the following: CBT, CTFD, BCT,

IPT, EMDR, MBCT, Counselling, Counselling for Depression, Psychodynamic
Psychotherapy, STPP, Behavioural Activation.

3) At least 2 years of experience post qualification and post placement.

4) Demonstrates high standards in oral and written communications.

5) Must have basic IT skills such as using client databases, email, meeting apps and other relevant digital resources.
